Brady completed 69.4 percent of his passes for 1,268 yards with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions to capture the offensive award for a seventh time. He led New England to four wins during the month, passing for at least two scores and a rating of better than 100.0 in each game. Miller was tabbed as the top defensive player for the second time in his career after posting seven sacks with 14 tackles, 10 of which went for a loss, to help Denver to four wins. He notched two sacks in three of his four games and has recorded at least one sack in six straight games. Landry picked up the special teams honor after averaging 35.6 yards on five kickoff returns. "We all understand his past and what he meant to this organization as far as the Hurricanes," Thorburn said. "We were playing for him as well as the two points." Winnipeg accomplished both goals when Thorburn scored the tiebreaker with 1:03 remaining to lift the Jets to a 2-1 win over the Hurricanes. It was Thorburns second goal of the season. Andrew Ladd also scored for the Jets, who are 9-2-0 since Maurice took over as coach on Jan. 12. Despite his players sentiments, Maurice said the game had no special significance for him.
