LOS ANGELES -- Although the Buffalo Bills three-game winning streak is equal parts exciting and improbable, LeSean McCoy sees ways it can get even better.McCoy shredded the Los Angeles Rams defense for 8.3 yards per carry on the way to 150 yards rushing in the Bills 30-19 victory Sunday -- and he still wasnt impressed. There were some plays I missed today, McCoy said. I could have easily had over 200 yards.Thats a bold statement against a defensive team as good as the Rams (3-2), who were missing three injured starters on their vaunted defensive line. But after the Bills (3-2) turned an 0-2 start into an above-.500 record with three impressive victories, they could be excused for feeling good about themselves. Its just a gratifying moment, and we know weve got a ton of work in front of us, Bills coach Rex Ryan said. The Bills handled their first game in the Coliseum since 1992 rather comfortably, thanks to an opportunistic defense that forced three turnovers and a grinding offense that managed only 305 yards but found holes in the Rams solid scheme.Tyrod Taylor threw two touchdown passes, scrambling to find newcomer Justin Hunter in the first quarter and finding Marquise Goodwin in the fourth after Nickell Robey-Colemans second interception.Robey-Coleman returned his first interception 41 yards for the tiebreaking touchdown in the third quarter, punctuating the Buffalo defenses effort against Los Angeles inconsistent offense.Case Keenum passed for 271 yards, while Todd Gurley scored the Rams first home touchdown of the season while rushing for 72 yards. Los Angeles couldnt build on its three-game winning streak with back-to-back road games in Detroit and London coming up.Weve got to score in that red zone, said Tavon Austin, who had seven catches for 59 yards while rushing for 26 more. We keep getting down there, but not scoring in the red zone. Three points is good, but three points is not going to win too many big games. Here are some other takeaways from the game:LOUSY FAKE: Trailing 23-19 and desperate for a late-game spark, the Rams faked a punt from their own 23 with 3:47 to play. The Bills sniffed it out perfectly, tackling Bradley Marquez 3 yards short of the first down. Thanks to a 24-yard run by McCoy and a TD pass by Taylor, Buffalo essentially put the game out of reach moments later. Ryan credited the decisive play to the Bills special teams coaching staff, saying Danny Crossman, Eric Smith and Kathryn Smith were preparing special teams for that exact play, so we were ready for it.DEFENSIVE BLOWS: The Rams began the game without starting defensive linemen Robert Quinn, William Hayes and Michael Brockers, allowing the Bills to gang up on star lineman Aaron Donald in their blocking. Theyre all willing, but were looking at the long haul right now, coach Jeff Fisher said. And they wouldnt have been productive. In the fourth quarter, Los Angeles lost standout cornerback Trumaine Johnson to a right ankle injury that had him on crutches after the game. If Johnson or the linemen remain out for a prolonged stretch, the Rams greatest strength will be compromised. Fisher expects to know more about Johnsons injury Monday.GRINDING HALT: Gurley scored a touchdown and had his second-biggest rushing game of the season with 72 yards, including a 16-yard run and a 12-yard run. But the standout second-year pro still has only 288 yards in five games. He also fumbled twice, losing one. The Rams still cant get their most dangerous offensive player going.HOMECOMING GAME: Robey-Coleman was named a Bills captain for the game along with Reggie Bush, Robert Woods and Kevon Seymour. The reason? Theyre all USC Trojans returning to their home stadium. We could have let distractions get to us, Robey-Coleman said. We came out here with a mindset to get a victory and thats what happened.BIG SACK: Buffalo linebacker Lorenzo Alexander had two sacks, putting him into the NFL lead in the category. Hes the first Bills player to get part of a sack in five consecutive games since Mario Williams in 2013. Alexander was more excited about the Bills takeaways. Thats what we pride ourselves on defense, he said. Our core principle is to take the ball away and score on defense.---AP NFL websites: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Vapormax Plus Mens Sale . The Los Angeles Kings are mired in their longest losing streak of the season and struggling to score goals. The identity of their next opponent may make things look a whole lot brighter. The Kings will try to continue their mastery of the Edmonton Oilers when the Pacific Division rivals face off Thursday night in Los Angeles in the first of five meetings this season.Last season, the Kings outscored the Oilers 20-12 while completing the first season series sweep of at least five games in franchise history. Additionally, Los Angeles has won nine in a row at Staples Center over Edmonton by a 36-13 margin, and the Kings are 16-1-2 in the past 19 matchups overall. All that is great for a Kings team that needs some positive news. After kicking off a five-game road trip with a 7-0 rout of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Nov. 8, Los Angeles (7-9-1) has managed a total of five goals while losing four in a row, including a 4-1 setback to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.Though the Kings have played just 17 games, reigning Norris Trophy winner Drew Doughty said the team must have a different mindset. We need to play more desperate, he told the Los Angeles Times. When youre losing games, its not fun. ... Its not fun coming to the rink sometimes. Weve got to be more desperate and treat every single game as if its a playoff game or a division game and thats how were going to get back on track.Doughty had only three assists in five games versus the Oilers last season. Los Angeles was paced by Tyler Toffoli (three goals, five assists in five games) and Jeff Carter (four goals, three assists in four games).Carter is the Kings leader with five goals and 11 points so far in 2016-17.Los Angeles continues to deal with injuries to key players including goaltender Jonathan Quick (lower body), Marian Gaborik (foot) and center Anze Kopitar (upper body). Quick is out until January, but Gaborik could be back next week and Kopitar remains day-to-day after being injured Friday against the Ottawa Senators. It definitely helps out to be out there on the ice, and just, you know, be on the ice and have the feel and all of that, Kopitar told LAKingsInsider.com on Wednesday. Again, day-to-day, skate again (Thursday), see what happens and well go from there.Despite their strugggles, the Kings are fourth in the Pacific, four points behind the Oilers, who are tied with the Anaheim Ducks for first thanks in part to a 5-3-1 road record.ddddddddddddThese are tough games to play in Anaheim, L.A., San Jose, Dallas, they always have been, Oilers coach Todd McLellan told the Edmonton Sun prior to a three-game road trip that started Tuesday with a 4-1 loss to the Ducks and concludes Saturday against the Stars.McLellan went on to say Edmonton has showed some improvement, but now it is time to ratchet up the results. We want to take that a step further and come up with some wins, he told the Sun. However the game is played, I think were equipped to play it, but individuals have to pick up their play. Not dealing with an early deficit would help, too. The Oilers (9-7-1) have dropped a season-high four straight, but more alarming is they have surrendered the opening goal in each of their last six. Edmonton has fallen behind in the first 1:57 in four of those contests and trailed within the opening 28 seconds in two.The Oilers are 4-6-1 when opponents score first. It becomes a mental thing, but theres two different types of play ... one where (youre) not prepared mentally at the start of games, then when the other team scores, you think and reflect on that and you lose the next five minutes, too, McLellan told the Edmonton Journal.Cam Talbot was 0-4-0 with a 3.56 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage against the Kings last season, and he has surrendered 24 goals in his past seven games overall, posting a 1-5-1 record. Jonas Gustavsson could make his first appearance since Nov. 6, when he recorded 22 saves in 2-1 road win over the Detroit Red Wings. In his only game in Los Angeles while with Detroit, Gustavsson allowed an early goal as the Red Wings fell 1-0 on Feb. 24, 2015.Oilers left winger Milan Lucic is scheduled to meet his former club for the first time. While with the Kings last season, Lucic had a goal, four assists and a team-high 10 penalty minutes vs. Edmonton. He signed a seven-year, $42 million deal with the Oilers in July, and he has five goals and four assists in 17 games.
