The Minnesota Wild have re-signed forward Stephane Veilleux to a two-year contract extension. According to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the two-way deal will pay Veilleux a total of $1.175 million over the next two seasons. The 31-year-old appeared in two playoff games for the Wild in 2012-13 after spending the majority of the season with the American Hockey Leagues Houston Aeros. In 33 games with Houston, Veilleux scored three goals and five assists. Veilleux has appeared in 460 career NHL games with the Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils, scoring 46 goals and adding 55 assists. He was originally selected by the Wild in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Adidas NMD R1 Cheap . Adidas NMD Clearance Sale . PETERSBURG, Fla. TORONTO -- Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews meet again Tuesday night. This time, they will be opponents.McDavid is captain of the Edmonton Oilers (7-2-0), who will play Matthews Toronto Maple Leafs (2-4-3) at Air Canada Centre. They have some history together.McDavid, the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NHL draft, and Matthews, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft, were teammates on Team North America in September at the World Cup of Hockey. The 19-year-olds will meet as opponents for the first time on Tuesday.Team North America, made up of young players, was the hit of the tournament because of its crowd-pleasing style.Matthews had two goals and three points in three games and McDavid had three assists. It helped my confidence for sure, Matthews said. He was so easy to play with because he just does everything so well at such a high speed. Playing with him was a blast.Matthews has six goals this season -- four in his first NHL game -- and is tied for the NHL lead. He also has four assists.McDavid is tied for the NHL lead with 12 points on five goals and seven assists. Its going to be cool going up against him, Matthews said on NHL.com. Edmonton has gotten off to a pretty hot start, so once again itll be a tough challenge for us. I know all of us will be pretty hungry to get back in the win column. Both teams are coming off losses on Sunday. The Maple Leafs dropped a 5-1 road decision to the New York Islanders. The Oilers lost 2-0 to the Ottawa Senators in Edmonton. There has been little or no contact between the McDavid and Matthews since the World Cup.Not really, Matthews said. Were on our respective teams now, so were pretty focused on that.dddddddddddd When the season is over, maybe well get together again or end up seeing each other somewhere.By taking the loss Sunday, the Oilers failed to match their franchise-best start since 1985-86 when they went of 8-1-0.Were going to lose some games in an 82-game season, McDavid said. You cant expect to win each and every night. I thought we played well defensively and when we didnt, 1/8goaltender Cam Talbot 3/8 was a rock back there. We played a good game, they just got the upper hand. The Oilers hope that their power play is better Tuesday than it was Sunday. The power play was not good at all, Oilers coach Todd McLellan said. There was no urgency for me. We felt good because we were in their zone but looked good doing nothing. We won 11 of 14 faceoffs in the first period and had six minutes of power play and had seven total shots (in the period). Thats not a good recipe. We moved it around but we had no substance, no attack, no tenacity to recover pucks.Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs have been struggling defensively.Everyones worried about the goal-scoring, Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said. Thats not our issue. On this team, its what we give up.Jhonas Enroth played in goal for Toronto on Sunday. It will probably be Frederik Andersen, who has played seven games, starting against the Oilers. The Oilers and Maple Leafs will meet again Nov. 29 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. ' ' '
